Four principles behind what we build

  1. 01

    Every sport deserves professional production

From grassroots to elite, broadcast-quality graphics shouldn't require a $500K investment. Access should be democratised.

  2. 02

    Automation beats manual operation

Humans shouldn't click buttons for 90 minutes. Smart automation lets your team focus on production, not data entry.

  3. 03

    Cloud-native beats hardware-dependent

Your broadcast graphics shouldn't depend on what's installed on someone's Mac. Cloud means update once, deploy everywhere.

  4. 04

    Design matters in broadcast

Technical is important, but beautiful wins. Good graphics are invisible: they just work. That's what we build.

A distributed team, building for sports broadcasting

  • Adam Burke

    CTO and co-founder

Adam is the architect of LIGR’s core platform, including the FUSE theme builder, Rive integration and streaming infrastructure. Based in Sydney.

  • Luke McCoy

    CEO and co-founder

Luke leads LIGR’s go-to-market strategy, partnerships and product vision. Based in the UK, he oversees commercial operations across Europe, Australia and the US.

We're backed by operators, broadcasters and investors who believe that broadcast graphics production is about to change. We're building the platform to make it happen.

From Sydney in 2016 to LIGR Next

  1. 2016

    Founded in Sydney

Live Graphic Systems started in November 2016 on one observation: professional broadcast graphics were locked behind hardware, specialists and six-figure budgets, so everyone outside the top tier went without.

  2. 2017

    First cloud graphics on air

Cloud-rendered graphics delivered for Input Media's cricket coverage. Proof the approach held up on a live professional broadcast, not just in a demo.

  3. 2018

    Cricket Australia and the NBL

Appointed official graphics provider for Input Media's Cricket Australia coverage, and powered the NBL Blitz live streams distributed on Twitter.

  4. 2019

Startmate, Sportradar and the first backing

Selected as one of 10 companies from more than 400 applicants into Startmate's Sydney '19 cohort, chosen for Sportradar's Acceleradar programme, and signed to deliver AFL NAB League graphics.

  5. 2020

Seed round and the launch of LIGR.Live

A $1M seed round led by Alston Elliot Graphics, one of the world's largest broadcast graphics suppliers, with Investible participating. LIGR.Live launched as a self-serve cloud graphics platform.

  6. 2021

    $2.1M Pre-Series A

Led by Investible, with NBA player Andrew Bogut and MindSpring Capital joining. LIGR won at the ANZSTA Awards the same year.

  7. 2022

Built into the workflows broadcasters already used

Integrations with Grabyo and Pixellot put LIGR graphics inside existing production chains, and Belgian basketball moved to fully automated stream graphics.

  8. 2023

    Acquired into the Crionet Group

In December 2023 Crionet Group, the Italian sports and media technology company, took majority ownership, giving LIGR a European base while the team and brand carried on. The same year brought an official Stats Perform partnership, a first US college competition in the Horizon League, and Basketball NSW.

  9. 2024

    Automation wired into the stack

AWS Elemental MediaLive and Canva integrations, official NCAA data through Genius Sports, the Club Portal, and four Australian football federations signing three-year deals.

  10. 2025

    Zero-operator production at national scale

DAZN selected LIGR for the National League. Football Australia's centralised model reached 4,000+ matches a season across nine federations, and Tennis Australia, SANFL, the Corsican Football League and World Sevens Football came on board.

  11. 2026

    LIGR Next arrives in Q4

Named a SportsInnovation Startup Award finalist in February, with the next generation of the platform launching in Q4.
