How to Stream from StreamYard to LIGR

Transform your StreamYard broadcast into a professional sports production with TV-quality graphics, live scoring, sponsor overlays, and automated distribution.

What is StreamYard?

StreamYard is a browser-based live streaming studio that requires no software downloads or special equipment. It supports multi-guest interviews, screen sharing, custom overlays, and real-time comments on screen — all entirely in-browser (Chrome recommended). Owned by RingCentral (acquired from Hopin in 2024), StreamYard is popular with content creators, sports podcasters, and league media teams who need a simple, professional streaming interface without complex setup.

StreamYard offers multiple plans: Free (basic streaming), Basic ($20/month), Professional ($39/month), and Business ($69/month). Custom RTMP streaming to external platforms is available on Professional and Business plans, allowing you to stream directly to LIGR while simultaneously broadcasting to YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitch, or any RTMP destination.

What You Will Need

  • A StreamYard Professional or Business plan (custom RTMP requires a paid plan)
  • A LIGR Live account — sign up free at ligr.live
  • A match or event configured in LIGR (graphics theme, data source, sponsors)
  • Stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps upload; 8-10 Mbps recommended)
  • Chrome browser (recommended; Safari and Firefox also supported)

Step-by-Step: Connecting StreamYard to LIGR

1

Set Up Your Match in LIGR

Log in to LIGR Live and create a new match in your Control Room. Select your graphics theme, connect your data source (LIGR LiveScore for live scoring, or an automated data feed), and configure sponsor overlays for your broadcast.

2

Enable GFX & Stream Mode

In your LIGR match settings, switch to GFX & Stream mode. This tells LIGR to accept an incoming RTMP video stream and overlay your configured graphics in real time.

3

Copy Your LIGR RTMP Credentials

LIGR generates a unique RTMP URL and Stream Key for this match. Copy both — you will paste these into the StreamYard streaming configuration.

4

Configure StreamYard Custom RTMP Destination

Log in to StreamYard, create or open your broadcast, and click Destinations. Select Custom RTMP and paste the LIGR RTMP URL and Stream Key. You can add LIGR alongside YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitch — StreamYard will push your feed to all destinations simultaneously.

Important: Custom RTMP streaming requires a StreamYard Professional or Business plan. Check your plan includes this feature before configuring.
5

Set Up Your Broadcast in StreamYard

Configure your broadcast settings: add guest links for other participants, upload background graphics or overlays, set your broadcast title, and customise comments display if you're using StreamYard s on-screen chat feature.

6

Start Broadcasting in StreamYard

Click Go Live in StreamYard. The broadcast will stream simultaneously to LIGR and any other configured destinations (YouTube, Facebook, etc.). StreamYard will display a live indicator and guest status in real time.

7

Operate Graphics or Automate with Game Plans

Once the StreamYard feed lands in LIGR, operate graphics live from the LIGR Control Room — or use LIGR Game Plans to automate the entire broadcast: pre-game sequences, live scoring triggers, sponsor ad playlists, and post-match graphics, all running without an operator.

8

Stream Out to Any Platform

LIGR pushes the combined feed (StreamYard video + LIGR graphics) to your final destinations. You can stream to YouTube, Facebook, your league website, or any RTMP-compatible platform — or use LIGR's multi-stream feature to push to multiple destinations simultaneously.

Why Stream from StreamYard to LIGR?

StreamYard gives you a professional, browser-based studio for multi-guest sports shows, panel discussions, and live commentary. The interface is intuitive, multi-guest support is seamless, and you can stream to multiple platforms instantly. But without a production layer, that feed is just a studio camera view with no broadcast graphics, no live scoring, no sponsor overlays, and no highlight automation.

LIGR is the production layer that transforms your StreamYard broadcast into a professional sports production. Together, StreamYard + LIGR create a fully featured live sports broadcast pipeline — from a multi-guest studio to a TV-quality viewer experience with graphics, scoring, sponsorship, and multi-platform distribution — all with zero operators required at any point in the chain.

StreamYard can push to multiple destinations simultaneously. Add LIGR as a Custom RTMP destination alongside YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitch. StreamYard handles all the simultaneous feeds — LIGR will receive your broadcast feed in real time.

Guest Invitations

Copy your StreamYard guest invite links in advance and share them with panellists or guests. Test guest connections before going live to ensure all participants can join without technical issues.

Stream Quality

StreamYard s video quality depends on your upload bandwidth and browser performance. For the best final broadcast, use the highest quality stream your bandwidth allows. LIGR will accept any resolution and adapt your graphics accordingly.
